From Variation to Standardization: The Canadian PPH Initiative

Dr. Barry Thorneloe presents the Canadian PPH Initiative’s national toolkit, a bedside resource built around a team-based response, standardized use of the maternal allowable blood loss (MABL) formula, and shock index for early recognition. He shows wide variation in current PPH management standardization, access to viscoelastic testing at the bedside, training gaps and interdisciplinary coordination and argues for the need for standardization in PPH care.
